Rotten Egg smell 08 GXP

Everytime I accelerate hard on the Torrent I get a rotten egg smell in vehicle. It is the 3.6 VVT motor. Could it have bad cats with only 40k on the clock?

Two things here. Constructive comments from Pontiac or from dealer service departments are welcome, if they provide some specific advice, but please remember, this is a "Pontiac OWNER'S Forum". The advice to simply take our car to the dealer is not advice, but a solicitation. I used to work for a dealership, but I am also a Pontiac Torrent owner, too. Most of us are looking for specific advice, not solicitations.

Now to the question. The rotten egg smell in most vehicles is associated with an overcharging battery in my humble experience.

How is suggesting someone take a car to a dealership, where the car is still under warranty as far as the cat is concerned, solicitation? The battery only overcharges under hard acceleration how does that happen?
