Hi,

Hoping to find some help.

2007 Montana with a rough idle. I checked the engine mounts, they are ok, however the trans mount has a very small crack in it - nothing major, it is still attached. It goes away when driving, but as soon as the revs are low, it idle rough. What else could it be????

Help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the reply.

All of that was done a short while before the rough idle. Also, no CEL. Maybe 190,000km?

vacuum leak ? dirty maf sensor(usually triggers a cel)?

I sprayed some brake cleaner around the intake etc., not sure if that would even increase the idle, but it did not.

It sounds similar to a vac leak.

dirty throttle body, dirty idle air control valve

Do these cars have an idle air control? Where is it?

I thought that the icv ended after 2005? But I am not sure?

correct, no listing for IAC on 2007

We'll, I have thrown the towel in two or three times in the last few years. This is looking like one of those times. I made an appointment with GM next week.

I will check the MAF, as a last resort. If it has a MAF!

I really wish there was a good repair manual that did not cost $250. The only other one I have found is for the 2005.

Thanks for everyone's help, I will report back. Hopefully the information will help someone else.

Mechanic said it may be the front engine mount, due to it having oil all over it. There is an oil leak at the oil pan.

They want $900 plus tax to repair it. I don't have a manual, do you need to drop the sub-frame to do this?

IDK , I never did a mount, does it look hard? and why would a bad mount cause a rough idle, cause the engine shakes?

Yes it causes a rough idle. Many utube videos will show the movement of the engine. It makes sense that it is a mount, especially as there is no CEL. My engine movement does not look major, but it is possible.

I looked at the mounts, but could not see the front center mount ( the one in question).
