Our Aztek has a satellite antenna in the windshield...did Pontiac install a satellite antenna in the windshields of 2005 Azteks that had radios incapable of accessing satellites?
We had a new radio installed a couple years ago by Pontiac dealership due to a bad cd player...the radio was covered under warranty...I'm thinking that the satellite antenna in windshield means the original radio was satellite capable, and when dealership put new radio in, they didn't give us a satellite capable radio like what came in car...when we bought the car new, we were told that it was GPS capable, which I assume that if it is GPS capable it means satellite capable...
we never tried using satellite until now, and when I push the PTY button, satellite isn't listed...

You press the band button to select XM satellite radio if your car is equipped with it. Below is a copy of the owners manual with explanation. If you provide the VIN of your vehicle to any GM dealer they can tell you what equipment was installed in the car originally. Every XM antenna I have ever seen is a small protrusion mounted on the roof of the vehicle, it is not in the windshield.
