With the car on, the seat belt light remains on even if I have my seat belt buckeled. I know there's a sensor for the seat belt, does anyone know where it is exactly located? And a picture would be helpful, since I have no idea what it looks like.

The problem only came up AFTER the starter was replaced. Don't know if that has anything to do with it.

not really logical that it would be related to starter. You have a sensor in the seat and a switch in the button end of the belt. Check for a break in the harness or the connector. You should see everything under the seat, may have to remove it to gain access.

Remove the seat? Ugh, I hope not. Seems like it's problem after problem with this car.

If I need a new sensor, what's the actual name of it? I Googled Pontiac Sunfire Seatbelt Sensor and had no luck, the only things that come up are seatbelts.

Also, if I need a new switch, what's the actual name of it?

I believe after further research they didnt use the sensor back in 98, so it must be the belt itself, again check the harness for a break

Down the right hand side of your seat just below the buckle is a connector...unplug it and jump the two wires, if the light goes out then its the buckle, if not check the alarm fuse in the fuse box.

Edit: Can't remember but you might just have to unplug it to test.
