Sensor issue

not asking for myself I have a nieghbour that I took for a ride in my 95 transam and he fell in love
He has found a 97 which he likes but the abs light is on he has been told by owner of car that it is caused bye a bad sensor in rear end which he says can't be bought ( discontinued) my research says you can bye them but he is scared he will bye a car that he can't safety
Any info would be appreciated

Does the car have traction control?
They only make the sensor for no traction control.

I myself have not seen it my buddy said it was the abs traction control sensor ? And he was told only used 1 year anybody else i have talked to say there should be a replacement

Again does the car have traction control?
If it does no sensor currently available new. It would have to be found in a junk yard.
