I was driving my car for not long earlier today, and the Service Vehicle Soon light came on. I didn't think much of it, as I am pretty sure it is different than the check engine light in my 2000 Pontiac Grand Am GT (v-6 ram air.) Just to be safe though, I went to the gas station, filled my tank up nearly all the way (not even a gallon short of full) and put in some fuel injector cleaner. Afterwards, the light went away. I live in Michigan too, and it was just below freezing today, and I had a little more than a quarter tank of gas before I filled up when I first started it. Could it have been an oxygen sensor issue, like with the check engine light? Or is this probably some sort of coincidence?

The service vehicle light is different from the service engine light it usually is an indication that something on the vehicle other than emissions needs maintenance..
your local dealer can tell you what may need attention..
