I've been looking for a repair manual for my 2005 Grand Am for a long time now. I try to do most repairs myself to save money, but I like to study up on things before I do a job as not all cars are the same. I would usually by a Chilton, or Clymer, manuals that can usually be bought at an auto parts store for about $25. But for the life of me I can't find one anywhere. I can't even find one doing web searches, going to the Chilton sites and so on. What am I missing here?

You seem to be correct. I did a search myself and came up with nothing for 2005 specifically. Could be since little to nothing changed after 2003? (Correct me if I am wrong)

here is a Haynes 99-03 Grand Am I am sure Chilton would have one too. If the answers are not in the manual you have online forums like this to ask questions.

Overall these cars have "old" (forgive me if it is offensive :p) technology and are fairly easy to diagnose.

It may be grouped with the later G6. Most manual printers try to group as many models together as they can. If this is the case, they may not have listed the Grand Am prominently enough to do a proper search.

It is also possible it's covered in the manual for the up to '03. Have to do more research we I get a moment.

Yeah, I agree jon. I still don't think much would have changed between 03 to 05 apart from them discontinuing options maybe.

This is another original poster MIA.

Okay, baring anyone else with different information, your car should be covered by the 99 to 03 models. Still uses the 2.2l ecotec for the 4cyl and the 3.4l for the v6. Wikipedia lists the 99 to 05 as being the same car (here is the article for mobile. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pontiac_Grand_Am). Everything that I can come up with points to the up to 03 manual covering your car. Contacting Haynes or Chilton could verify this.

One last word, Chilton appears to have an online, subscription-based service that covers your car as well.
