First pic is of my left, working outlet

Second pic is my right, non-working outlet

Am I correct that something is stuck in the right one or is there some weird quirk where they have different outlets?

Thanks

Looks like the front part of an accessory power plug is broken off in it.

I'm re-visiting this again and am a bit confused

So I removed the right one a while ago because it was indeed fubar. I'm looking at a replacement and found this schematic. It indicates that the cigarette lighter on the left has a different part number than the right (this is from GMPartsGiant.com if anyone is wondering)

Left: 25776667 - RECEPTACLE,C/LTR(PART OF 1)(2 TERMINALS)
Right: 10202970 - RECEPTACLE,ACSRY PWR(PART OF 1)(2 TERMINALS)

I'm guessing one stays on after you turn the car off and the other turns off. Can someone confirm this for me? Or have a different explanation? I'm going to hook up the left one into the right harness and see what happens. I'll post later

Thanks all

I just tested the left one in the right harness and it came on without the keys in the ignition so there goes that theory. Maybe different amp output?

one may be the first one to get the power and feeds the second one, sort of like master slave ? Just guessing. I will look at my 03 and see if there is any difference.

My guess is that the right one is a power port. It doesn't have the tabs to hold the lighter in.

But mine doesn't come with a lighter. They both just have covers

The left one has clips to hold a lighter the right one doesn't

Thanks old man. Stopped by the salvage yard and pulled one out of an Aztek they had. The front part is grey instead of black, but for $2 and a few minutes with a Sharpie I'm over it
