If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "1995 Trans Am" isn't going to indicate to anybody that you need help. However, "Need help with my 1995 Trans Am" will. Be as descriptive as you can. Please use common sense... I broke the speedo cable. I have tried replacing it by buying the cable & housing from Autozone and from NAPA. They both fit/worked OK, even though they are 2" longer. But they leak tranny oil at the tranny fitting. This is setting in the gragage, not driving.

Has anyone else had this happen? After the A-zone leaked I got a NAPA part, thinking higher $, higher quality. No luck. The tranny fitting looks smooth, clean, no burrs. The tranny looks clean, no other leaks.

Any suggestions are welcomed.
Thanks.

You posted in, General Pontiac Non-Model Specific Discussion, so have no way of knowing what car you are talking about. Generally speaking there should be a seal of some sort where the cable attaches or on the gear.
