I’m new here and glad to be a member of this form !!
This car was stored for 14 years when the owner passed away and I had the option to purchase . It’s a 1991 Sunbird 3.1L, Convertible, 5 speed, all the options, White on Grey, 49,000kms and 100 % original. The speedometer just stopped working and the dial is stuck at 160kms.
I replaced the speed sensor but no change, I’m looking for some words of wisdom

The circuit board that controls the speedometer has a burnt out component would be my guess

That’s not what I wanted to here but your probably right. I might pull the cluster and check the printed circuit board on the back for any obvious signs

10 million bolts just to get it out,( have fun;)) check the circuit copper fingers on the cluster where they contact the harness plug, they get corroded or get out of place if disturbed before.

Ended replacing mine the circuit copper was so bad only 2 things worked on the cluster.

Doug in P.R. 😎
