Starter Heat Shield Wrap

I havent used that personally but it is a common solution. Do you have the factory heat shield installed on the starter solenoid?

I will have to check on the shield. I really don't know if it's there or not.
Thanks for the reply. I hope someone here has some experience with the wrap.

So I looked at several different sylonoid heat shields on line this morning and decided to make my own because my original one was indeed missing. I finished the header install and this evening drove into town a couple of times to get the car good and hot (it was 85 degrees here today) and no problems getting her to start right up. Looks like another problem solved! Thanks for the heads up Melvin!

Good to hear your not having any issues from heat. Can you share some details of your car, what year, engine, other modifications, etc. If you could post some pictures that would be great.

1966 Le Mans. 326 between the fenders, a turbo 350 that feeds into a 12 bolt posi trac. I have no idea if anything has been done to the 326. I bought the car in 1986 when I was 16 and plan to leave it to my kids someday. The 326 is from another 66 I bought 15 some years ago to replace a 455 I had been running since 91. The car was originally Platinum in color. When I bought it someone put a coat of red on it, and you can see I went with black. I had lots of help restoring the car back in the late 80's. I know nothing about body work so that was up to a friend of a friend. And, black was a poor choice as it shows the quality of the body work. I'm okay with it as I just like to drive the thing when ever I can. Here it is...

nice pictures and car, they look like they could have been part of an ad back in 66.
