Starter - Wiring - HELP!

The wiring on my starter has obviously been messed with. Long story short - I have no idea how this wiring mess should be dealt with. I have attached pics. Any help is greatly appreciated.

There was a recall on this and GM added a relay...this is the best pic I can find...
