Earlier in the evening, could not turn on the engine, only my instrument panel was powered. When CAA battery-assist came over, discovered that the negative power connector was loose. Symptoms included power locks and windows not working and headlights were dim. This problem was resolved and let it run for about 30 minutes (although moved the vehicle around to a couple places in that time).

Current issue: Still had trouble turning over to start. Had to really give some gas to start it. Was noted that by mechanics recently there is a possible engine misfire issue and having a tune-up done on Friday morning.

Any ideas of the likely source of the issue in this case?

do you have a check engine light on? have you had the charging system checked including the condition of the battery?

Engine check light came on a few hours later, a P0341 (Camshaft position sensor).

This morning, it would not turn over, lights + wipers functioned meaning battery was not an issue this time.

Had it taken to a shop and got a call that the starter is pooched. This is definitely not my week. At least it was well before I have to start taking to the highway...:(

Note my van is an old 2001.

These things are pretty horrible. Let us know if you get the issue fixed.
