I have a 2000 Montana. I'm having trouble when I start it. It starts to crank for about a second than everything goes dead (starter, light and etc.) for about 1 1/2 seconds or so than it starts. It just started this on the weekend. I drive 50 miles one way to work so I want to get this fixed and not get stuck at work if it stays dead and doesnt start one time. Thanks in advance for your help.

Do you have a check engine light? Check to see if the battery connections are tight both at the battery and at the starter and at the ground. Have your battery and alternator tested.

In case anyone has the say problem, it was the battery. I've never had a battery slowly die but that is what was happening. They usually die all at once for me.

Glad you got it fixed.
