I have a 2004 Pontiac Rally since new and have never had a real issue until now.All of a sudden I have trouble starting.I turn they key and it starts but idles off and if I give it gas nothing happens. This has happened numerous times but ended up starting after 20-45 minutes of waiting. The tek runs fine at low and high speed. It just seems to be very random.Today it stalled in traffic and wouldn't start until over an hour later but ran excellent afterward. If it was fuel pump or filter wouldn't I have more problems than just a starting issue every few weeks?

have the fuel pressure tested. how many miles? have you followed the factory maintenance schedule? is the check engine light on?

The fuel pump was ruled out and there is no light on,so I didn't get any codes. And yes I take very good care of it,had it since it was brand new.
I was told to start with the idle sensor control,my tek seems like it's idling low.A second opinion mentioned the Crankshaft Position Sensor.A third mentioned security but I tried that fix and it still wouldn't start. Not sure what to do cause it runs fine but hate knowing that could happen anywhere and anytime.

It's strange that you have no check engine light. When you turn the key to start the vehicle does the check engine light come on temporarily to verify that it is working? Have you changed the air filter every 25K? If you have over 100k, have you changed the spark plugs? Have you ever changed the fuel filter? You can try cleaning/replacing the IAC.
