Thanks for taking the time to read my question. I just purchased a 2006 Torrent. It has the Pioneer stereo in it (6 cd changer etc). There is an Aux button it, but I cannot find the jack anywhere. Should there be one? I am reading through the manual, under the "Radio with Six-Disk CD" but don't see anything mentioned regarding the XM/AUX button. I'm assuming AUX means I could plug in an MP3 player...?

If there is no jack, is this something that can be added... GM has just not "plugged" it in. In otherwords, there is an empty port on the stereo in the back somewhere?

Thanks,
Brad

I just read through a PDF of the manual and it appears to me the only function is to switch between XM and CD.

That's what I was kind of getting after reading through it a few times... Funny they would call it AUX...

Thanks for the reply.

Brad

I know this may be a dead thread, but I'm in the same situation, and my brain is having a difficult time swallowing the truth. I just bought a 2006 Torrent with the Sun and Sound package, and I'm a big Pandora listener on my phone. I didn't see an Aux 3.5 mm jack, but I assumed since there was an AUX button that there was a port somewhere. I used to own a 2006 Saturn Vue base model, which is almost identical in size and style to the '06 Torrent, and the base Vue had an AUX port on the front of the radio. My other car is a '12 GMC Acadia base model, and this has it also. I have become very dependent on the AUX plug, and may have to rip this dash apart to get one in there.

Asking all forum members to help save my sanity!

Yeah I read through it a few times. Think I'll still dig around for a bit before I replace it with an aftermarket with either a real AUX or a USB that'll allow my Galaxy s3 to be hooked up. I've read that most USB or Pandora compatible systems are olny good for iPhones

As you know technology is progressing at a very fast pace and the vehicle you have was designed in 2005 or earlier when many of the things you mention may not have existed.

I do get that Mel. All I really was looking/hoping for was a.n auxillary jack to plug me phone in. No worries though. Thanks for the info.

And, like I said in my 1st comment, I had an '06 Vue, very similar in most aspects, but the radio is way different

I have seen an article where someone did try to add an aux jack via the satellite input jack, and the problem is the can bus lead requires a data signal to allow the aux input to work. He was going to try and switch the can leads, but then the blog went silent. But there is the satellite input jack that needs a signal. I was going to give it a shot but then the kid wanted the stock radio back in and with the Bluetooth to FM, she had her phone and Bluetooth input.

Maybe the model. I have a 2007 Torrent AWD, which has the 6 disc CD changer, and the AUX port is on the bottor right front of the receiver (can't miss it).

Probably a dead thread, but my 2006 Torrent has an aux port next to the hand brake of all places. It's below everything, including the shifter.

Over the last 15 years I'm sure a prior owner added it not the factory.
