Sub woofer is to loud. '06 Torrent

I drive a 2006 Torrent, with the Pioneer sound system upgrade from factory. I have the Bass/sub level turned all the way down on the stereo itself but the sub still pounds! The bass from the sub overpowers the rest of the speakers. Is there a separate output level dial for the sub that i can turn down? and if so, where would it be located, and how do i access it?

On the subs them selfs there should be dials on the amp

Thats a new one on me for a Factory unit not aftermarket. Did you press the EQUAL button when you have this issue to see if the bass is really turned down? Did you look in the owners manual to see how you can customize the equalizer settings?
