I have Pontiac Sunfire 2001 2.2 4Dr. While driving the following lights went ON all at the same time.

-Service
-ABS
-TC

Can anyone please help me troubleshoot this new challenge in life. I notice it does not affect the performance so If it is gonna cost me too much a temporary solution is also welcome. Permanent fix will come later as soon as I have the budget.

autozone can scan the codes for the Service light at no charge. It may or may not be related to the ABS/TC lights. If not you may have a bad wheel sensor or wire harness going to a sensor.

have you had any recent service done to your vehicle? Has the car been towed recently? have you or anyone driving the car run over anything on the road?
It may just be a simple speed sensor at one of the wheels that is no longer communicating to the computer.

look at all four wheel sensors, see if you can find anything obvious, like a broken or cracked sensor or chewed up wiring, anything that could interrupt the magnetic field.

If you do not see anything obvious have your codes in the computer scanned make sure they check the ABS and traction control codes.

The code will lead you to what sensor is not reporting correctly. this doesn't mean the part is bad. it means it needs to be diagnosed.

If you find out for sure which sensor is malfunctioning look at it closer even pulling it off the car if necessary, look for anything that may disrupt the signal.

If you want to diagnose the problem properly you will need access to a factory service manual and some diagnostic tools.

Or you can just do like most people and install a new part clear the codes and give it a try. if your short on cash diagnosing the problem is best.

Thank you so much melsg5 and EaOutlaw for your quick responses. I just came back from work and noticed that lights were Off when I pulled out from the parking lot, but it came back again after driving for 5 Km.
I borrowed a basic OBD scanner and was able to scan codes C1227 and C1234 which pointing to the Left rear wheel.

C1227 - Left Rear Excessive Wheel Speed Variation

C1234 - Left Rear Wheel Speed Circuit Open or Shorted

I guess this troubleshooting is getting closer to the culprit. Im glad it does not affect driving performance. It can wait till I source for parts or maybe just a lose connection. Hopefully not the harness as that is more difficult to fix.

I will keep you posted. Thanks again.

it should be simple to track down, maybe you will get lucky and the speed sensor just came plugged, Techs get in a hurry when working on cars and sometimes break the plastic retaining clip.

Your brakes will function normally as standard brakes without anti lock , so give yourself some extra room while driving until you repair whatever is the cause.

I had the same exact trouble. My friend has a smartphone obd2 tool, found 0 codes. I unhooked the battery and left it off for 30mins, it still came on periodically but now it off for the majority of the time.

the smart phone app with adapter may not have worked on your car or at all.

bring your car and have it scanned if you cannot afford a scan tool.

If you have a ABS or traction control light on.
The car may seem OK until your in a panic situation
