hey

i got a sunfire 2000 gt 2.4 that the radiator fan does not work. This happened the other day. as soon as this happened the engine light came up on the dash.
i have tried starting the car and then unpluging the temp sensor and seeing if that did anything which it did not. the fan itself is not suck i can move it with my hands any suggestions?

which engine light come on? if you mean the Check Engine you need to have the computer scanned for the code, autozone does it for free. Concerning the fan it comes on when the temperature hits 215 to 220 degrees, is your car overheating?

the check engine light come on. the nearest autozone is just over 2 hours away. i havent let it get over 200 i didnt want any damage done. its fine on highways just when im idleing the temp goes up. i also swaped the cooling and heating fueses no change

you need to first apply power directly to the fan to check if it works. If it works and you have verified it's not the relay the next thing would be the sensor. The check engine light may be a totally different problem.
