I have a 2001 Pontiac Sunfire GT, my problem is the keyless entry has a problem receiving the signal. If I hold the keyfob close to the windshield wiper area the keyless sometimes works. Where is the receiver for the keyless entry. I am guessing that it has something wrong with it and it can't pick up the signal very well.
Thanks,
Evelyn

have you tried a new battery in the key remote?

Plus 1 on checking the battery in the remote.

Not sure about the location of the receiver in your car, but most GM key less receivers were located in the trunk, near where the left hinge (drivers side) for the trunk lid mounts to the body. Its a black box about 1"x4"x2", give or take.

Turns out the clicking is coming from the fuse box. Something with Siemens 3602 written on it. Flasher maybe? I can't seem to get it out of the socket. I looker in the door for the keyfob receiver but could not find it. Any ideas where in the door it might be melsg5?

I do not think it is in the door. Seems to me it would be near the inside fender or under the dash. What you are describing as clicking sounds like a relay. Your owners manual should list which one it is.

I put new batteries in both remotes. The part doing the click is a multi function module. Gonna pick one up tomorrow, I thought it was a flasher or breaker. Just hoping the weather warms up a little.

Before buying a new part, you really should have the system tested with a scanner to ensure the part is bad. They aren't cheap, and may require dealer programing? Most major parts stores will test for free?

It Works!

I wanted to get back and post that the "Body Multifunction Electric Computer module" seems to have been the problem. After i found it with the help on this forum i removed it and just physically looked at it and it looked ok. After i reinstalled the module it worked fine. I guess unplugging it from power reset it. Thank you for your help in finding the module i would have never found it under the dash behind the fuse panel.
