Hi, my 2.2l auto sunfire has driven perfect and without issue up till today. Yesterday I installed a cold air intake on the car and it drove around fine all day. now today my traction control light and engine light are both on solid and the car seems to be shifting really hard. Anyone have any ideas?

You failed to hook something back up. Have the code scanned at autozone if you dont know what you may have left disconnected.

the only thing I disconnected was the little sensor in the intake tube and I popped it into the new intake and plugged it in... also im in Canada and we don't have autozone... I have my own small scanner but it wont power on when I plug it in, I dunno if its the car thays not working or the scanner..

check to see if you blew a fuse, in particular the cigarette lighter fuse powers the scanner port.

You were totally right the cigarette lighter fuse was blown. However I pulled the battery clamps off earlier today to reset the ECU so when I scanned the car, it showed no codes but drives like normal again. So when it acts up again, I'll rescan it and get back to you! Thanks for the idea!

adding a cold air intake will change the air flow, temp etc, changing the parameters that the AIT (air intake temp) sensor uses to determine fuel air mixture. this happened to me on my 1991 Beretta and normalized after a few drive cycles.

Either that or could be the AIT has intermittent failure like on my son's 01 2.2L auto sunfire. We have had similar issues and the AIT tested bad.
