TCC Solenoid clip impossible to get out

I have no idea how the clip even went in there. The hole where the clip should be able to slide out is smaller than the clip is. I can't get it out there no matter what I do. I've destroyed the existing TCC solenoid trying to pry it out, and now I also have to figure out how to remove the remaining part of it, too.

Any suggestions, since I don't see anybody else having this problem. I must be blind.

I ended up removing the pump assembly bolts, and rotating it to get to the clip, and then was able to remove the remnants of the solenoid. I don't recommend this, since the pump is delicate and fell apart when I did this. I hope I got it back together correctly :)

I'll post pictures this afternoon, just to provide the answers.
 
thanks, but that shows the 3-4 up-shift solenoid, and that one was the easiest to remove :)

The TCC is on the opposite side, lower-left.
