Temp selector door must be stuck No HEAT

When I move the potientometer the Hot and Cold temperature selector from hot to cold or vice versa it might take a month or more for the damper door in the HVAC to operate. This summer it stayed on hot and I got hot air for about 2 months even though I tried using the AC. When fall and then winter came I moved the control to full heat and froze to death until about 2 weeks ago when the damper finally went to heat. I do not know what do disassemble as the whole thing underneath seems confusing. Saw the post about disabling a damper to get more airflow. This does not seem to be my problem.

What do I need to disassemble and HOW to get to the blend door? Is it vacuum or electrically operated.

BTW I have a dual HVAC system and changing the heat cool pot changes the heat cool in the rear auxiliary unit so I know the pot is working.

You say you have dual zone. Do you get heat on both sides when you move it to cold? I looked up Alldata and it appears to be a motor...not 100% sure if its vacuum based. BUT, it`s also possible the your heater/AC controller is faulty. The circuit boards in them aren`t great. Does your heat control have sliders? It is something you might be able to do yourself. Used heater controls are less than $100...the last 2 I bought were $45 each!

Can I suggest that you spend $30 on an online subscription to Alldata DIY?? No. I don`t work for them...it`s just a great tool. That $30 will buy you a 5 year subscription and it will help you with everything including TSBs and recalls etc.

Imagine that....I learned something new! LOL! You are right. The front heater control also controls the rear temp when 'R' is not selected on the heater control!

I`ve only had this van for a month.....

GM manual shows electric motor left sid of HVAC housing

Posted new ? HOW DOI YOU GET IT OUT AND BACK IN? Need to be a midget to get in there. Anyone done this?
