Hi guys!
I need a person with some car smarts to help me out here. Today, completely out of nowhere, the power steering failed on my 2005 Pontiac Sunfire. For the entire day it was fine. Then suddenly, gone. We got stuck in some snow earlier and had to push out the car and turn the wheels back and forth to do that-it was immediately after that the power steering stopped. That was the only out of the ordinary event today. I can drive it fine, but it takes a ton of muscle to turn the wheel (obviously lol) and when I slow down (say from 80/km to 50/km) the steering wheel shakes like crazy.
We checked the belts and the fluid, both are fine. So I am not sure what the heck happened!! Please offer some insight. I am extremely paranoid about taking it to the garage as I don't trust 'em at Canadian Tire (all we have in town)....I need to go in there prepared with some ideas! If you could spare a moment and shed some light on this, I would truly appreciate it! THANK YOU!!!
Hmm, well the tires do seem to be fine. I am praying it is not the pump! lol. As for the belts, my boyfriend said that the serpentine belt is perfect, tight, etc.
