Timing questions!!

i have the 1987 Value (?) no idea what the difference is lol.
i know they have timing gears and no distributor since mine is the DIS engine. how do i know if my timing is off, and how can i fix it? starts rough, idles a little too high for my liking, and has 0 power. will make it up to speed but incredibly slowly. has lost power before from hitting the gas too quickly especially in reverse. not sure if it’s a fuel issue, timing issue, or ignition issue, help!!

Timing normally doesn't change by itself. You make no mention of tuneup history.
