hello, i have a 2002 sunfire gt with a 2.2 ecotech engine with 180,000 kms on it and i recently did a cylinder head job but now my timing is off, so i have to change the timing but my question is, should i just replace my timing chain with a new one, i drive my car hard and i do a lot of quick acceleration and i rev shifting but i do change my oil every five thousand kms and i also add lucas oil stabilizer.

thanks

at that mileage replacing the chain and all tensioner components would be a good idea.

the guides yes, the gears unless you see a chipped tooth or something else that doesnt look right should be ok

you might beable to get a conversion kit to a timing belt..I believe after 06 they switched it to belt driven .

All Ecotecs use a chain

can someone give me a picture of an engine that's timed right, i don't know which way the intake cam should face (like the valves position), are the valves suppose to face down or up when the engine is in top dead center?
