just had my TPMS replaced and had an interesting discussion with the mechanic
they recommend not to use the max tire pressure, but something closer to 35 psi
of course the TPMS thinks this is too low, in fact it thinks anything under 50 is too low (max is like 54?)
so have idiot light constantly nag me, listen to the local mechanic, run it overpressure, or listen to internet experts saying that my car is going to explode or catch fire if I run the tires at more than 45psi?
remember the big thing about SUVs with fatal rollovers due to tire underinflation?
and my personal experience of having 4 tires ruined because the max was 44 and the local mechanic 'expert' thought 32 was better(ford focus)
