The tires on my GA are 15 inch. I've been offered a real good set -- 225/60/16 on stock aluminum mags.
Would those fit or be too big?

Your current tires should be 215/60/15. The optional tire was 225/50/16. Both of them are a hair within 25" in diameter. If you didnt misunderstand or mistype 225/60/16 is over 26" in diameter and will give you an incorrect speedometer readout.

The size was texted to me, he could have mis-typed it. --- Just called him and he said it is
225/60/16.

The 225/60 will be too high compared to the correct sized 225/50 and could even affect your speedometer.
