I recently purchased a 1969 Pontiac Grand Prix Model J and I want to replace the 225/70/14's with wider 60's. I'm old school and have always had 60 series tires on all my cars. I'm new to pontiac, always owned Oldsmobile's so I'm unfamiliar with wheel names for Pontiac's. The previous owner told me it has SSII wheels on it. My question is: What is the widest tire I can put on those wheels that will fit without issue? B.F. GOODRICH is my tire choice. Thank you in advance. Brian

Thank you. I was thinking about 225's on all corners. I will consider what you suggested. Hard to know exactly what to put on without seeing first. I'll be ordering tires on line, most if not all local tire stores here don't have anything on display in that size like they used to back in the day. Thanks again.

Tire Rack has them.

Tire Rack has them.
I find Tire Rack to be the best prices shipped right to my door. I purchased a few times from them in the past. Thanks again for your suggestion. Do you have them on any of your cars presently? Have you had any issues with the white letters having black bleed through? I have in the past and B.F. Goodrich replaced them for me. Pain to have to go through but at least they took care of the problem.

I have them on a 71 GTO, used oil based white marker pen on letters

Get 15'' wheels 255.60s front 275.60s rear

Thanks for the replies. The car came with 14's so I ended up purchasing 235/60/14's for the front and 245/60/14's for the rear. B.F. Goodrich of course. Should be good for just cruising around town. Will get them mounted once all the motor work is done. I had them on my Olds 442.
