So I recently started driving my old lady's sunfire and noticed a handful of problems. Its a 1999 with the 2.2, NOTHING fancy.
Ok, to start, the AC clutch assembly is bad I think, makes a terrible ruckus when its turned on. I had to take the fuse out because it came on with one of the heat settings.
Next, it seems like the first two positions on the ac/heat level switch don't work, and the radio doesn't have lights anymore, but still works.
The ETS OFF light stays on, and only blinks when the switch is pressed. When braking (after ground is wet and after I back out of the driveway), there is a loud bang like a sledgehammer is in the trunk. Scares the girlfriend to the point she doesn't want to drive when its wet outside.
Also when the brake is pushed hard enough, it doesn't really brake, just makes weird clicking noise. Someone told me the rear brake shoes have to be adjusted, but I could've swore they adjust themselves. It did it before and after brakes have been changed.
The gas gauge shows the opposite of whats really in the tank and when full, the needle floats around.
There is a ticking coming from behind the gauge cluster which I can only assume is the speedo gear going bad, and the trip button doesn't work, also sometimes I'll notice the numbers on the odometer start to flake out and disappear.
This is only about half of whats wrong with the car, but I figure thats the most important b.s. If anyone has any advice at all on what i can do to fix any or all these issues, please feel free to comment. Its important I fix these minuscule problems so I can focus on fixing my c10.
Thanks, Rick

1 Im assuming you are referring to fan motor not working on first two positions. Usually the resistor for the motor is burnt out.
2. Radio lights require removal of radio and replacement of bulbs.
3. Sounds like all brakes should be checked and condition of sensors at all wheels
4. Check for worn suspension components/bushings in rear
5. Check ground connection for tank sender.
