I'm replacing L hoses after fluid leakage for 1st time. I purchase the aluminum ones pretty advice of the few however the top L hose does not seat all the way in ... ?? I already got Finance issues going right now and I unexpectedly miss work today ... ? I have to get this car going ... dad really needs it right now. Can anyone elaborate on the top L hose being naturally loose I'm pretty sure I removed all the old plastic and junk. The orange ring doesn't even seem to properly sit all the way in. Is this supposed to be.

If the second picture is the problem it is not fully seated.
Did you lubricate all the o-rings?
Did you watch any of the videos on installation?

Yes I did ... This the only part of the fitting that's not seeming to fit all the other three are fine they go in with a little lubrication and turn push

After removing all the broken down components... that dark part is really hard ...its metal... ? I don't think this is melted?? I don't think it supposed to come out when looks like a shallow space ...

How does it compare to the other side?

Thats what I was going to suggest, many times parts of the elbow break off in the fitting. I had it happen to out 99 when I replaced the L pipes.
