If I buy a new tpms sensor and replace one that is acting up, what needs to be done after it's installed? I assume it probably has to be programmed to work? Surely the car's ecm won't just automatically recognize the new sensor, that would be too easy. I currently am having issue with a tire that keeps going flat that tire shop has looked at 3 times and determined the wheel (oem chrome plated) was pitted causing the leak. I bought a new oem wheel and had replaced and surprise surprise still leaking. I'm wondering if the tpms is leaking at stem. Any way to check it before replacing? Still have lots of tread left on tire so really don't want to buy new tire at the moment, plus can't seem to find a leak on the tire anywhere.
