Hello,
I really need some info or advice. My 97 transsport transmission is acting crazy. It will shift ok for the most part, but it does slip some. It got hot back in July. So it DOES slip some, but recently, it is really acting up. The van will be cruising just fine around 65 or 70 and then out of the blue it will shift itself into 3rd. No noises or warning. It just downshifts. Then it just stays in 3rd until you turn the van off. After the van is off for a bit, it will shift ok again. Also, the other day my wife went to pull away from a stop sign and the van went backward. But, the trans. was in drive!! This just about flipped her out!! It has done that twice. Also, when putting around town in drive, it decided to rev up like a race car out of the blue. No power to the wheels...just revved up. Put it in park and back into gear and she runs somewhat ok again. I added some of that Lucas trans. treatment the other day to help with slippage, so you guys know. PLEASE...any ideas or advice??
