Transmisson Wont shift out of reverse

I have an 04 montana. I just finished rebuilding the valve body. I have put the van back together and now it will not start. The transmission seems to be stuck in reverse and the neutral safety switch doesn't show what gear the van in is. I can move the lever on top of the neutral safety switch and the van seems to go into neutral, but I cannot get it to move into any other gear. When the van seems to be in neutral, I can roll the van forward and backwards. Then I move the selector on the transmission counterclockwise and it will click once and that is it. Any ideas on this one?

Assuming this issue didnt exist before you worked on the valve body, go back over what you did that would have effected the shift mechanism.
