Trunk won't open???

Searched this forum, but couldn't find anything related to the trunk button's not working.

I manage to pop it from the inside, took everything apart, wondering which part is most likely to die, the switch or the actuator? How can I find out which is not working properly?

Does the truck have it's own fuse?

What type of vehicle are you having this problem with? You may be able to find this information in your owners manual. I would also suggest that you contact your local dealership; they would be able to look at your vehicle and let you know what the issue is. Please keep me updated on this issue.

Do you have the owners manual? If not I can provide a link if you provide the year. You could then check the fuses. There is no most likely part to fail. If it's not a fuse each component in the circuit has to be checked.
 
I do have the owners manual, but couldn't locate the trunk actuator fuse. I have removed the part, and looking for a replacement now.

GM service advisor, this is the torrent special forum, hint hint. Vehicle is 2007.

Mine is also stuck and won't open, does your handle feel stiff like it is not releasing? I think it is the liftgate handle that is the problem if you find out anything different it would be great to find out what the cause is. The part is $80 on ebay I'd hate to buy it and that not solve the problem.
 
I changed the electronic switch, located near the license plate. Still not working. I'm thinking the actuator is dead, which is $215 @ dealer. Will bring it in for diagnostics.

What's gonna happen real shortly, sell the Torrent and go back to imports. Seems like I never had those issues with Honda's.
But I could have one of those "lemons"
 
Got mine working now ended up being the touch switch above the license plate, the dealer said they have a lot of people coming in over these but no recall has been issued. It was only like 20 or 25 for the part.
