Trying to buy a 95 Sunfire... could use some help...

Hey everyone,

I am looking to buy a sporty little car for my girlfriend and was considering a Sunfire. I found a 95 Sunfire with 80,000 miles on it. The seller is asking 1,500. I assume I can negotiate a little lower. What is a car like this actually worth? The mileage would indicate that it was only driven about 6k a year, so I assume it was well maintained... but is there anything specific I should look for when viewing the car? Are there any problems this model year (or the sunfire in general) is notorious for? Any advice on the car would be much appreciated. I plan to look sometime tomorrow, so I will try to come back with some more information about the car. Thanks everyone in advance and I really appreciate any feedback you all may have.

$1500 seems like a decent price for that car if the engine is in decent shape they had some issues with head gaskets on some of them also if the gasket has been changed sometimes the head warps and does not get checked like it should have ..
but if it runs good and the fluids are all where they should be it could very well run for a long time I have seen some with over 150000 mi with good maintenence.. but be sure to check it over good ...
