Turbocharging

Hey listen, I'm wondering about super/turbocharging a 2.4L engine. I wanna add some power to my own Grand Am, since I'mgoing to be driving it daily. Might as well milk some fun out of it, eh?

I know that back in the late '80s-early '90s a bunch of companies (Honda and Chrysler and a couple others), added turbochargers to their 4-cylinder engines. I'd really prefer not to go with an engine swap of any kind, so I'm wondering if a standard turbocharger kit will fit on the 2.4L engine.

Depends on what you mean by standard. If the kit is not specifically designed for that engine it will require a lot of fabrication. You best bet is to ask the manufacturer of the kit that you are considering.

I think the Chev cobalt had a turbo. Check salvage yards. Also GM Performance sells a kit for it, I think.
