I bought a 2.8 turbocharged intercooled methonol injected fiero, when you rev it up standing still it seems to run good no missing, but when you drive it and get on it,it will sometimes backfire or act like it runs out of fuel, then you let off the gas and it seems to take back off, just bought it and looking for ideas where to start, thanks

Do you know the maintenance history of the vehicle, last time fuel filter, air filter, plugs etc. were changed? If no start with basic maintenance. Reving it in neutral puts no load on the engine.

I replaced fuel filter, cleaned the k&n air filter, and put new plugs in still the same, when you stomp it to the floor its goes for a bit then acts like it ran out of gas, then let off gas and it slowly comes back to running again, any other ideas

Check the fuel pressure and check for computer codes
