Good morning all, newbie here. I just purchased a 2001 Pontiac Montana (3.4).
After looking it over, I noticed a compressor behind the left rear wheel doesnt shut off when turning the motor off. Not sure what this is for. Cant find anything on it. Any ideas? hopefully someone knows what this is. Nothing seems to be effected by this continual running.
thank you in advance for you assistance.

That is the air compressor for the rear shocks assuming they havent been replaced with conventional shocks. If it continues to run it will burn out and may kill the battery.

so can I just disconnect it without damaging anything? it cant be doing any good, the lines are split and crack, one is broken completely off.

yes you can disconnect it but arent you having a problem with the rear bouncing around or have the shocks been replaced with conventional ones?
