Upstream o2 sensor - hints

Hello all,

I've found the upstream O2 sensor, and it's in a real hard to reach spot between the back of the engine and the firewall on the down-pipe from the exhaust header. I can't see the end of the electrical connector to unplug it. Does anybody have hints on how to remove it without hiring an 8 year to climb on top of the exhaust?

I was thinking that I'd have to follow that 'rotate the engine' procedure:

I guess I'll do the spark plugs while I'm back there I was hoping there was an easier way to get up there or in there.
