USA-1 Radio Problem Custom AutoSound

I recently purchased and installed a USA-1 radio from custom autosound and I'm having some problems with it. I have a '78 Trans-Am with a 455SD. Every now and then, the sound cuts out and the display starts flashing at about a 1 second interval. Sometimes it's only for a few seconds and sometimes a minute or so. It seems to happen more on deceleration and seems to come back on if I accelerate harder. Any ideas? Anyone have a similar problem? Thanks

Sounds like a loos wire someplace, possible bad ground?

The other possibility is that your alternator/voltage regulator is undersized or on it's way out the door and dropping voltage too far, but I'd think that would cause other issues as well.
