My Grandpa rebuilt a 89 firebird, and in the process he somehow got a vacumm leak. I plan on buying the car soon and need to fix it to stop it from overheating (it idles at about 3000RPM). He says that the leak is behind the air intake where a few hoses connect to a small connector piece. He says that it is cracked and that he's quick fixed it once with some tape or glue and it ran great, but it melted off and now is once again idling too high.
I heard this all off a telephone call so I don't know all the problems, but from that information, can you tell me the best possible way to fix it? I know I'm being a little vague, but does anyone know if there is a replacement part? What about a heavy duty epoxy?
