Vent System

I'm trying to cover up my vent system for a 72 LeMans w/ AC. I took all the AC components off so there is no AC. But I wanted to cover the vent system holes. I do not know if they are below the engine compartment, or they come through the firewall? I just don't want any air coming through my vent system until I refurbish the AC system. I usually drive with my windows down as well, so therefore I have no use for the vents. Any help or knowledge will be appreciated.

the vent source is right in front of the wiper blades, usually has a mesh like grill covering the area.

Ok, I found it. Is there usually any filters that go in there? Or any sort of air filter that fits in there? I been trying to research this.

no just the mesh grill to prevent large objects, leaves etc. from going in.

If your car has idiot lights, a good option would be to place gauges where the vents are.
