Ok so I own a 2001 Firebird that I drive for fun every now and then. Its got 42,000 miles on it It already had about 35,000 when it was bought. Right to the point though...
I kept it sitting in the garage for the winter like I usually do. Now that the weather is a bit nicer I started to take it out. However the car all the sudden when it hits the temp gauge at 200 it stalls out, and I lose power steering.
I brought it to my local mechanic and he blew out parts of the car with some compressed air and changed the fuel filter thinking that this might solve the problem, it still happens. Although heres the weird part...If I let it stall out once and let it sit 5 min and start it again it doesnt stall ever unless I let the car sit all day and let the engine go back to cold. Then if I start it and let it go back to 200 it starts all over again. Sometimes it wont even start right away if I let it go back to cold.
Its been doing this on a consistent basis and none of the mechanics by me know what the problem is. Other then that the car runs great with out any other problems. Does anyone know what this might be or have experienced similar symptoms.
