If mileage and condition is equal, they are both great cars.

I've owned two Grand Am's and had nothing but engine problems.My opinion they are crap.

The Chevy Malibu has more service centers, in more cities; Malibu has at least 3 engine options, and in 2009 a MALIBU HYBRID. Probably Chevy has more models to choose from, including pick-up trucks, campers, and motor homes, plus the Malibu.
