lol...I was going to say becasue it's a v-6..sorry.... don't know what's making it slow, you could try changing the gear ratio in the rear, it will take off alot quicker then??
you have a power to weight problem, not enough ponies to move that much metal. you might be able to regain some by doing the routine maintenance, air filter, and tune up.
Unfortunatly that is exactly why it is slow .. The V/6 engine IS NOT A performance engine Period !
they were made to be commutor cars with mileage in mind NOT racecars, unfortunatly alot of the missinformation comes from the import crouds and the fact that some imports are able to be made fairly quick with mods that are supported by the aftermarket ..
The V/6 in the Firebird IS Not supported by many aftermarket Equipment manufacturers and is generally not used in any performance applications
(the exception being the Buick based 3.8 engine) but even with that there are few parts available ..
if you are looking for a better engine to modify buy a V/8 equipped car ..
