I’d love to drop a 455 into my 1970 LeMans but finding the one I want is costly.. So my question for anyone that has done it. What do you all think about the bolt on look like a carburetor EFI system.. I’d be looking at the Sniper EFI that is self learning.. Any input and advice from anyone who has done it would be great.. Let me hear your thoughts guys..

What is your goal in looking at the EFI system?
Have you considered a 400 if you cant find a 455?
Do you currently have a 4bbl carburetor and intake if not what intake are you going to use with the EFI?

Yes have an Edelbrock Performer Intake with Edelbrock 600cfm 4bbl carb.. My goal is more consistent drivability, while eliminating having to worry about cold starts. With the EFI set up I should gain some MPG and nicer drivability. Also a little power gain as well.

So looking at Summit Racing the Quadrajet type of Sniper sells for $1,300.
Before dropping that kind of money, have you recurved your distributor?
Have you connected the distributor vacuum advance to a full time vacuum port?
Have you adjusted the choke to correct your cold start issue?

I bought a 70 Lemans Sport recently, it came with a 455, sniper EFI on it, and so far I love the setup. I live at 10,000 ft. There's alot of things that EFI can do. The dual fan setup wasn't done correctly so I have to get wiring harness to control them separately, the TH kickdown isn't installed, have to buy a new cable-switch (lokar seems best), etc. But, I do love the way it runs. Seems it could be quicker when I floor it....but there's so many ways to tweak it that I simply don't understand.

Meant to type TH 400. Both engine and tranny numbers show from 73 Grand Prix

Are you aware a Th400 uses a switch on the gas pedal, the Th350 uses the cable.

Yes...with the EFI it is best to install the lokar cable, mounted to side of 'carb' to electrical switch, to 12 v, to tranny to do this. Better setup, really.

I've had both types....the pedal switch has been improved and different than original carb setup.
But it's 120 bucks. I'm poor, so I downshift using the shifter
