What to look for?

Hello All! Im new but I like the forum! I am looking to get a 69 lemans project. The car I am looking at needs A LOT of work, but I love the Lemans and really want one to fix up! The guy who has the car doesnt know if its matching numbers or not, is there a way to tell? Is there anything else I should look out of? Thanks you all!!

Ah, someone who has been watching the car shows on Spike - one of those shows just rebuilt a '69 LeMans.

Unless the car is a classic - like a GTO Judge - suggest that matching numbers aren't that big of a deal unless you're looking to show the car or turn the car for a profit.
