I don’t know a lot about Pontiacs so I figured this is the place to go! My son just bought a 73 LeMans to restore and the previous owner put a different nose cone on it and I’m trying to figure out what year or model it’s from? All of the pictures I see of 73’s it shows the turn signals are mounted in the bumper, but this nose cone has them mounted in the grill? Any help is greatly appreciated!

You have to post a picture of what you are describing. Noway of knowing based on your description.
Did you ask the previous owner?

Sorry about that! I didn’t think about throwing the question out there until I was at work, so I’ll get a photo added tonight. Yep, asked but he had no idea. Thanks

I had a 75 and they were mounted in the grille...like this ...

www.car-part.com lists a handfull (Search " header panel" ) , most
people with 73 Grand Ams swap to the LeMans front header panel so supply is limited. ( Nobody makes the Grand AM ones new.)

So jump on the site and get the correct one , have them send a couple of pics
before buying, they do crack because the are fiberglass.

Also find out what the sixth digit in the VIN is.

You may have a Luxury Lemans, it was the plushier version of the Lemans, they come standard with a different nose and fender skirts. 1974/75 versions have the turn signals in the grill like you describe, are you sure the car is a 1973? If it is it probably had a front end swap after some damage years ago. in the 1980's the car would have been just a used car, and new parts would have been scarce so many 10 or more year old cars were repaired using parts that would fit. Any lemans model front clip from 73-75 would bolt onto any of the three years.

Pictures would help us ID both the year of the car, and the front clip. Include a rear view also as the tail lights changed from year to year.
