whats the engine?

Hi all,

I only recently purchased a 1971 Pontiac Lemans which is supposed to have not the original motor. The seller could only say that the motor is probably from 1968 or something ?! How can I find out what motor this is ?
I found some numbers on the block:
stamped on the front is: 0473222 XH
casted on the left side I found: D*N and 8230

Any help or hints is much appreciated

XH is the engine code find the casting code and look up the engine at this link
